I know this post is a little late, but with it being half term and having 5 little monkey's that need looking after/occupying I have been a 'little' bit busy.

I'm not a royalist, but I have really enjoyed the Jubilee weekend.  Part of that is because of the extra time I have had with my family, but I have really enjoyed seeing our little country all come together and celebrate a very important event in our history.
The children took part in various activities at their schools including tea parties and having dress down days, while learning about the Queen.

On bank holiday Monday we went back to the village I grew up in, to visit my parents and to enjoy the village's Jubilee parade and picnic in the park.

The weather was rubbish and rained every five minutes, which is not surprising for a bank holiday weekend, but being British we just carried on as usual.
Being a small village it was only a short procession, but included local children and adults dressed as various Kings and Queens throughout history and even included a princess riding on horse back.

Once the procession had passed we made our way to in to the local park where there were stalls and activities set up, and lots of people had already put up gazebo's so that they could enjoy their picnics without being rained on.
All in all, it was a very enjoyable afternoon and I even managed to bag myself 2 raffle prizes. Yay.
After a great afternoon we then took the kids home, got changed and then went to a party at Daddy D's brother's house.  Instead of playing cd's to dance to we had the Jubilee concert on and danced along to all of the music.

Bank holiday Tuesday was spent relaxing at home, watching the Queen's thanksgiving service and procession.
A perfect way to end our long weekend ...... all cuddled up on the sofa, having a pyjama day.
Lovely Jub-ilee !
