On Friday we were lucky enough to attend the Tots 100 summer party in Brighton.

As we walked along the seafront the weather was perfect and the sun was shining, making the sea sparkle at us as we went by.

The kids were very excited to be at the seaside and almost forgot the real reason for us being there, asking if they could go and play in the sea, but there were no disappointed faces when I said "no time to play in the sea today" ....... because we were going to Zippos Circus instead.

On arrival at the Big Top we were greeted by one of the members of the circus who provided us with a programme, gave the children a free light up toy, and then gave us all a little sticker which entitled us to free food and drink!
I almost had to physically restrain Daddy D at this point, (I think he was hungry after the long drive, bless him), so off we went to the Kiosk to get something to eat and drink.
We then took our food outside to sit on the grass with some of the other lovely bloggers who attended the event.

After lunch we were allowed in to the Big Top where we were treated to an exclusive presentation by some of the circus stars, showing us how they train their animals. (Dancing horses and some very clever budgerigars).

The children were also invited into the circus ring to have a go at juggling and swinging on the trapeze (while being assisted by one of the performers).

It wasn't long before the main doors were being opened to allow the rest of the public in, ready for the show.  We all started to get very excited at this point, and the children were allowed back in to the circus ring to have their faces painted before the main event.

I haven't been to the circus since I was a little girl and it was amazing.
I laugh, gasped, and watched from in between my fingers while the amazing acrobats did death-defying stunts.

CJ, Boo and Roo all loved it too. (Little Man and Minnie stayed at home with Granddad).
They had never been to the circus before and it was such a joy to watch their little faces light up and listen to them giggling at the clowns.

Then came the big finale ......... The Globe of Death!

This completely amazed me. I have no idea where they get the courage to do this kind of stunt, but the very thought of just how much could go wrong had me quivering in my seat.

We were sad to see the show end, and the children didn't want to leave.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day at Zippos Big Top, and I am sending a HUGE thank you to Tots 100 for organising it for us.
