I absolutely love watching The Great British Bake Off on television, so when I found out that there is a Bloggers Bake Off each week that I can take part in I couldn't wait to join.

I'm a little late joining in as it is already week 5 but I will be participating every week from now on, until the end of the series.

The Great Bloggers Bake Off is being run by the lovely Helen at The Crazy Kitchen and Jenny at Mummy Mishaps, and everyone who takes part can link their posts up on either of their blogs.

Each week The Great Bloggers Bake Off follows the same challenges that are given to the bakers on Great British Bake Off, so this week we were given a choice of tray bakes, biscuits and tuiles.
I really enjoy baking but have never really baked biscuits before.  I am more of a cake kind of girl.  Because of this I thought I should challenge myself and give biscuits a go, but here was no way I was going to attempt a biscuit tower like they had on Great British Bake Off.

I decided to bake jam filled butter biscuits and found the recipe really easy to follow.  The only alterations I made was to use strawberry jam for the filling rather than raspberry and apricot jam.
I am really happy with how the biscuits turned out and I think it is safe to say tht the rest of the family liked them as they were all gone within a few hours.

I also decided to have a go at making a tray bake.  After looking through some recipes I chose to bake chocolate orange brownies.
This was a nerve racking challenge for me as brownies are Daddy D's favourite desert and I wanted to impress him.
Again the recipe was easy to follow and the final result was delicious.  You could really taste the orange and the brownies were lovely and chewy in the middle.
Daddy D undertook the taste test and he declared them to be excellent so I can't ask for better than that!

I can't wait to find out what next weeks challenge is going to be, and am hoping that once I have built up a little more confidence I will be able to have a go at creating my own recipes.
