Last week I was really disappointed to have to missed out on the Great Bloggers Bake Off, as there was just too much happening in my family life, so this week I was determined not to miss out again.

The choices for this weeks bake were puff pastry, choux pastry and suet puddings.
I have never made any of these but opted to give choux pastry a go as I have always wanted to be able to make things like chocolate éclairs and profiteroles.

I decided to make chocolate éclairs and was pleasantly surprised at how simple the recipe is, and managed to follow it easily.  I ended up making 2 batches as I underestimated the size that needed to be piped on to the baking tray and the first batch were way too small to do anything with.
After that little mishap I piped a larger amount for the second batch, but still think they could have done with being a little bigger.

For my éclairs I followed Mary Berry's recipe and she has kept it really simple for beginners like me.

I left it a little late to do my baking this week and have never typed so fast to get my post included in Jenny and Helen's link up.

Now I'm off to the kitchen to eat my way through them!
