Recently I was lucky enough to be sent a juicer from ukjuicers.com

They sent me the amazing L'Equip Omni Juicer which can be used to make juices out of fruit and vegetables, but it does a lot more than that too!
As well as making juices and smoothies it can be used to make nut butters, sauces, purees, baby food, fruit sorbets, pasta and noodles!
I haven't had the chance to try all of these amazing features yet, as I am just concentrating on juicing at the moment, but I am very much looking forward to trying them, and blogging about them in the near future.

I had been very interested in seeing how juicing can benefit you and also whether it would be a way of getting more fruit and vegetables in to the children. Even more intriguing was whether or not I would be able to make any juices that Boo will drink.
Having a food phobia on top of being a super-taster means that Boo has an extremely limited diet.
He mainly eats cereal and doesn't eat any hot/cooked meals.
The only fruit he eats is a very occasional apple and he doesn't eat any vegetables at all.
The added vitamins and iron in the cereals mean that Boo is growing well, but the lack of fruit and vegetables in his diet means that it is unlikely that he is getting protection from illness and disease.
If I can get him to start drinking the juices then it would have a massive benefit to him.
This has to be done in baby steps and approached very carefully due to his phobia, so I will let you know of any success he has, if and when it happens.

In the mean time I have been starting my own juicing journey.

As well as 101 recipe cards, I was also sent a copy of 'The Juice Diet' by Christine Bailey with the juicer, so ..... I decided to give it a go.

I started by doing the Weekend Juice Blitz, which is a 2 day detox of mainly juices, to give my weight loss a boost and to help clear some toxins out of my system.

In that 2 days I lost 8 lbs!

I'm not going to say it was easy because I was starving ..... but the fact that it was only for 2 days made it manageable and it was definitely worth it when I saw the results!
After that I moved on to The Juice Week which is a 7 day programme where you drink 3-4 juices a day alongside healthy meals.

In the second week I lost another 3 lbs, bringing my weight loss up to an amazing 11 lbs ...... In just 2 weeks!!

Now I have moved on to the Juice for Life plan where you eat healthy meals and snacks during the day and have at least 1 juice a day as well. This plan is designed to help you continue to lose weight and then maintain it long term.

I love my juicer!
I am amazed by how easy it is to use and  by how quiet it is, and was even more surprised by how much I like the juices.
As well as being easy to use it is amazingly easy to clean which is perfect for me, as with 6 children to look after there is not much spare time in the day.

I'm not a big lover of fruit, and the idea of mixing fruit and vegetables together to make the juices had me rather sceptical about juicing, but the juices are surprisingly yummy and I am really enjoying them.

I have always struggled with my weight, and have never really been successful with diets, but I am feeling really positive about the Juice Diet.
It is easy to follow, the juices are tasty, and I really enjoy making them and experimenting with my own flavours.
The fact that the juicer is so easy to use means that I am more likely to succeed.  There is minimal effort required to make the juices, and I actually ENJOY doing it.

It's not just the weight loss either .... I have noticed other changes too.
My hair is shinier, my skin is a lot clearer and I already feel more energetic.

I can't wait to see what other benefits juicing will have over a longer period of time, and am looking forward to sharing them with you.

I will continue to blog my juicing journey and will also let you know how we get on with Boo. (Keep your fingers crossed for me).

Are you a juicing fan?
Have you ever tried it?

I'd love to hear your views and maybe some of your recipes too!
