Today is Rare Disease Day.

As some of you are already aware, Boo has Chromosome 1q21.1 Duplication Syndrome, which is classed as a rare disease.

Boo's syndrome causes him to have moderate learning difficulties, a lot of autistic traits, short term memory problems, problems expressing and coping with emotions, he can suffer with anxiety and can become quite aggressive at times.
He requires help and supervision with day to day activities such as brushing his teeth, and other personal hygiene cares.
He also has a food phobia and is a 'super taster'.

Brandon is an extremely loving boy, and tries hard to achieve in everything he does.

Unfortunately, because he does not have a physical disability, people can be very short sighted about his condition.

It is not something that can be cured.

It is something he will have to cope with for the rest of his life.

Please, please, please try to remember that not all disabilities can be seen.
There are a lot of people out there who struggle with a hidden disability and are trying to fight against discrimination every single day.

Don't judge a book by it's cover, as what's inside may tell a completely different story!

Love Missy x
