During the Easter holidays Roo and I were lucky enough to meet Mo Farah's wife Tania Farah with their 3 children (8 year old Rhianna and twins Aisha and Amani) to find out more about Weetabix and the new campaign that Mo is supporting - Weetabix Ultimate Sports Day.

We headed off to London where the children were entertained, and we were treated to an amazing brunch while we found out more about the campaign, and why Weetabix is such a god choice for the breakfast table.

My children love Weetabix, especially Little Man, and Nutritionist Sian Porter was on hand to tell us exactly why Weetabix is an excellent choice to give your child to give them the perfect start to their day:

Weetabix is a low fat, low sugar, high fibre, wholegrain food fortified with B vitamins and iron, and although it is not labelled 'low salt' two Weetabix only contain 0.25g of salt which is only 1/16th of a level teaspoon ...... in two Weetabix!
The amounts of sugar and salt added are the minimum needed for the recipe to keep the wholewheat flakes together in their iconic shape.

In children (and adults) breakfast cereals containing vitamins and minerals make a significant contribution to their intake of these nutrients. Some nutrients commonly under-consumed are iron, calcium and folic acid! A bowl of Weetabix, with milk, provides a useful amount of these nutrients (one third of an adults recommended daily intake of Thiamin(B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacin, Folic Acid and Iron).

I'm a firm believer that Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and Weetabix is the ideal choice to give you the start to your day that you need while still being healthy.

I had a lovely time meeting Tania and her children.  It was great to talk to her and to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, with the children playing and the parents chatting.

The Weetabix Ultimate Sports Day campaign gives your child the opportunity to design and take part in their dream sports day with Mo Farah.  All your child needs to do is design a unique and exciting obstacle for an obstacle course, and the 2 winners will see those creations brought to life for the Weetabix Ultimate Sports Day on Monday 14th July.
In order to enter the campaign simply pick up a pack and visit www.ultimatesportsday.co.uk to find out more.
