Happy New Year to you all!

As some of you may have noticed, I have been rather absent from here for the past few months.

I reached the point where writing wasn't really exciting me any more ..... where it was starting to feel like more of a chore than something i enjoyed ..... and so I took a step back and took some time for me and my family over the festive period.

I didn't make a big deal out of it.
I didn't mention it on here, or on social media.
I just did it.

And I didn't know if I would be coming back.

After all, what's the point in doing something if you don't enjoy it any more?

Happily, I have returned! (Which I'm sure you have figured out, otherwise this post wouldn't be here for you to read).

Yay!

It's amazing what a short break can do.
I feel refreshed and my love for blogging has been re-ignited which makes me very, very happy as I love my little blog.

A few things have changed in the Missy.B & Family household over the last few months and it feels as though we are at the beginning of a new chapter.

Bubba is no longer sleeping in our bedroom and has moved in to a room with his big brothers, and Squidge is now sleeping in a 'big girl' bed.

After having 3 babies in the space of 4 years it feels rather strange having our bedroom to ourselves again.  Almost as though we are taking the first little baby steps to having a bit of 'freedom' back again.

Don't get me wrong ..... I adore my babies, but it's lovely not to have to tiptoe in to my bedroom at night through the fear of waking a sleeping baby.

A huge positive that has come from this change is that Bubba is now sleeping through the night.  He is no longer waking for a drink.
It's as though he was only doing it because he knew I was there.
Little monkey!

The other big change that has happened is that Santa has taken Little Man's dummies.  He very kindly replaced them with a present, and Little Man has adjusted brilliantly, with no fuss at all.

These may not sound like big changes to some of you, but trust me, as a parent of three young children these changes can make a huge difference.

I'm not one to make New Year resolutions as I am never very good at sticking to them, but I will definitely be aiming to make some positive changes this year, not only as an individual, but with my family as well.

There are some rather 'trying' behaviour issues that need to be dealt with (from the children, not me), and there are changes that I want to make around the house as well.

On top of this there are other (heartbreaking) things happening.
Things that I can't write about at the moment, no matter how much I want to.

But, for now, I am trying to focus on the positive.

It's going to be an interesting (and busy) year with some rather exciting things happening ....... including the London Marathon!!

To say I'm excited is a little bit of an understatement.

I can't wait to share this year with you all.

Here's hoping that, for the best part, it will be a good one.
