It has been a while since I've written anything on here.

Unfortunately that seems to be something that I am saying more and more on here, and my Blog posts are few and far between at the moment.

I haven't lost my love for blogging, it's just that there is always so much happening that it is hard to find the time to put pen to paper fingers to keyboard.

There have been quite a few things to contend with over the last few months.

Squidge has started part time school (nursery), Little Man has moved on to full time school (reception), and Boo has moved to High School.

Boo's move has been the most stressful of them all.

I have to admit that I was feeling rather anxious about him starting a new school.

Would he settle in okay?
Would they provide him with everything he needs?
How much anxiety and behavioural changes would we see during the transition process?

We didn't need to worry.

I am extremely pleased to say that Boo's new school have been brilliant, so far.

They met with me within few days of Boo starting at the school and have worked really hard to ensure that all of his teachers know exactly what his needs are, and that he has all of the resources he needs.
As expected, we did see more anxiety and an 'overflow' of challenging behaviour to begin with, but he has adapted much easier (and quicker) than any of us ever dreamed possible.

He is happy!

Already he is taking part in extracurricular activities, including cookery, which is absolutely amazing considering the issues he has regarding food (tastes, textures and smells).

This makes me VERY happy.

It feels a little strange just having Bubba at home with me in the mornings, but I am also enjoying the quality time that we are getting to spend together.

Next September will see Bubba starting part time school and Squidge moving to full time.
And the September after that will see them all in full time education!

That's just 2 years away!
What on earth will I do with my time then?!
I will actually have a 'tidy' house for the first time in 15 years, and will be able to catch up with the must see TV series get some decorating done!

We have also been contending with health issues recently.

Squidge has been having a few issues for a while now, consistently complaining of pain in her legs and lower back, and falling over several times a day due to tripping herself up with her in-turned feet.
We have seen the orthopedic specialist a few times and have been told that it is possible she may have a defect in the base of her spine.

This is something that I haven't really spoken about before, and I don't want to go into too much detail until we have some more information.

She has been given an appointment to have an MRI of her spine on 4th November which she will be having done under sedation, and I will blog about it more once we know what we are dealing with.

On top of that Daddy D has just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

This means a lot of changes need to be made.

Not for the children as much, but definitely for Daddy D and I (well, I can't let him go through it all alone now can I?!)

I am hitting the books, and the internet, and trying to figure it all out.
They have given Dady D three months to try and improve his blood sugar levels by changing his diet.
If that isn't successful then they will start him on some medication to help to try and control it.

In the future it may also mean having to have insulin injections, which will be interesting for someone who is needle-phobic!
I guess we'll cross that bridge if/when we come to it.

So ..... bring on the healthier, sugar free, low fat diet!

I could do with losing some of the extra lbs anyway.

Like I said .... things have been pretty chaotic.

Fingers crossed things start to settle down a little bit now.
